This is a black vocal group. This Rite pressing, according to Jeff Kreiter's Group Collector's Record Label Guide, is the first pressing.

The second pressing is on the same Nite label, with mention of National Pressing & Distribution by Discmaker's Production Company (N.Y.C.) - Nationwide Record Distributors -Discmaker's Group Associate Member [phew!]. Note also that Thomas Keith has taken the place of James Keith in the songwriter credits.




They are not related to these groups, to the best in my knownledge :

- Five Delights on Abel (1959)
- Delitghts on Golden Crest (1962)
- De-Lights on Ad-Lib/Pop Line (1962)
- Delitghts, Chicago garage band on Delaware and Smash (1965)
- Delights on Arlen (1964)


The group was likely from Philly, as the name of publisher, G & H Music (BMI affiliated), is found mainly on the Casino and the Main Line labels, out of Philadephia.

G&H was the publishing arm of Main Line Record Distributing Company, owned by Barry Golder and Douglas Wellington Henderson, better known to his radio audiences in Philly (WDAS) and NY (WOV) as "Jocko."
The Main Line and Casino record labels were owned by the same company.

Fay Simmons recorded for Grand (54), Rainbow (54), Piney (55), Port (57), Gone (58), Sharp (59), Senca (60-61), Jordan (60-61), Nu-Tone (61), Popside (62), Ruthie (62), V-Tone (62), Palm (63), LT Productions (60s) and Tuffy.

Fay Simmons - Who is she? Where is she from? Why didn't more of Fay Simmons records make the charts? I don't know too many of the answers and am unable to come up with much information anywhere. Note : The only other known record on the same Ruthie label was Tony [Sharpe] & the Masquins who released 'My Angel Eyes' in 1961. Philadelphia deejay Kae Williams [also owner of the Kaiser and Junior labels] was possibly involved in the production of these Ruthie releases.

Soul produced and arranged by Chuck McClendon. Double address on the label : Washington DC and Phila. PA.
But another release on Ronnie (Argie & The Arketts – You’re The Guy (That Put Tears In My Eyes) / Hey Baby) has just Washington DC as the address.

Curtis Davis had another release on the Pittsburgh Bev-Mar label.

Charles Ruben McClendon (Chuck) McClendon is the arranger and producer of the Contrails on Reuben (Someone / Mummy Walk).

This Ronnie label is not related to the song-poem label of the same name located in Broadway.
