it was a wonderful night! fogo was very good to us. we ate so much, but it was so good and worth it. i promise, the waiter must have asked me three or four times if i wanted more fried bananas. i'm so happy i finally have the recipe so i can eat them whenever i want! :) also, do you like the dress i wore? i got it this weekend from H&M. I originally went looking for the michelle obama dress, but spotted this one and had to have it.
i hope all of you dear friends had a lovely valentine's day, too. thank you so much for all of the get well wishes. i am beginning to feel better thanks to all of your prayers!
much, much love.
p.s: thanks sweet boyfriend for treating me to such a sweet, romantic dinner! i couldn't ask for more. love.

happy valentine's day!
i planned on baking all sorts of heart-shaped treats this weekend but of course that idea was ruined by the flu. oh well, the boy is taking me to a lovely dinner tonight at fogo de chao which is a brazilian steakhouse where they continuously bring around all sorts of meats that you choose from, endless pão de queijo (warm cheese bread), crispy hot polenta, garlic mashed potatoes and caramelized bananas. oh, those bananas! they are my main reason for wanting to go back. it is definitely really fancy which makes it fun! we are usually really casual, but lamar likes to surprise me every once in a while. ;)
here is a photo of us last year on valentine's day:
aren't we cute? we had just started dating so i remember being so nervous! :)
what are your plans for valentine's day?

1. savannah. i'm in love with the spanish moss!
2. me with the boy.
3. i was telling lamar about the extreme homemakeover that happened in savannah and then a second later spotted it! isn't it beautiful? ty pennington and the team did a great job. i'm loving that fancy woodwork on the porch.
4. a trip to fresh market = lots of yummy foods like mango salsa, blueberries, delicious fresh-ground coffee, and this tazo tea.
5. then we came home and made this sweet, sticky, and spicy chicken. y'all have got to try this recipe! we made bacon wrapped asparagus, too. [except, we were too hungry and skipped the wrapping part]
6. then, we snuggled up, watched the food network and ate the yummiest blueberries in the whole world.
now, for the moment you have all been waiting for...
meet lucy
my room mate and i rescued her from a storm drain right outside of our apartment. she has been living there for months! poor thing. she is definitely not your average kitten. she is wild, but i love her. it is kinda funny because lamar has a kitten that was rescued from a storm drain last year, is the same age as lucy, and looks just like her. long lost sisters? maybe.
so, how was your weekend?

1. i wore the beautiful earrings my sister gave me for christmas.
2 & 3. lamar surprised me with very pretty flowers
4. lamar made me his really good [and spicy] spaghetti. it was delicious!
5.we ate, and ate, and ate.
6. mandarin cranberry candle
8. we warmed up by the fire
thank you so much for all of the sweet anniversary wishes! it means so much to me. :)
lamar and i had such a lovely evening. lamar was so sweet to me by surprising me with flowers and cooking that amazing meal. i made the cheesecake bites which turned out really yummy but not pretty at all. it was more of like cheesecake-sheetcake-that-won't-cut-into-pretty-squares. oh well, the boy liked it and that is all that matters, right? afterward, we snuggled up by the fire and watched the town starring ben affleck. it was really good and suspenseful. have you seen it?
as for this weekend...i'm going to babysit, relax, go to church, and enjoy my last weekend at home.
what are you doing this weekend?

i see Your face in every sunrise
the colors of the morning are inside Your eyes
the world awakens in the light of the day
i look up to the sky and say
You're beautiful.

a few months ago, lamar's cousin christina asked us to pose for 'couple pictures' to add to her photography portfolio. we went to downtown douglasville where there is a lot of beautiful landscaping, old brick walls, and classic southern charm. i especially love the photos where lamar and i aren't posing for the camera. we had so much fun! if only i could get the boy to wear something other than flip flops. :)
hope you like 'em!
