take a look at the pretty "just because" present my wonderful sister and friend Caroline gave me this weekend. i absolutely love it! i will never take it off.
i had a wonderful weekend at home with my family. it consisted of...
this place, irish pub, surprise presents, downtown atlanta, the flying biscuit cafe, finally raising my entire budget for Romania, mom's birthday, cookout, whole foods, stonebridge church, marietta pizza company.

82 degress + not a cloud in the sky + la berry frozen yogurt + skirt and short sleeves + picnic + sweetheart circle + the boy = a perfect saturday afternoon.

i'm so sorry for my absence on here this week. i was busy with teaching, lesson plans, getting ready for my kids' valentine's day party yesterday, and then...
the flu happened.
i will admit, i actually cried when the school nurse told me i had to go home due to a 101 degree temperature. i had 3 lessons to teach and the big valentine's day bash. i love valentine's day and i definitely didn't want to miss the excitment of my kids. but, i knew i had to leave.
so, i drove home all the way back to atlanta and my winter break begins! y'all, i'm so happy to be home.
anyways, i want to share, with you, my favorite flu treats: [because the best part of being sick is you get whatever you want!]
sea salt caramel gelato, publix bakery cookies, and of course, chicken tortilla soup.

1. savannah. i'm in love with the spanish moss!
2. me with the boy.
3. i was telling lamar about the extreme homemakeover that happened in savannah and then a second later spotted it! isn't it beautiful? ty pennington and the team did a great job. i'm loving that fancy woodwork on the porch.
4. a trip to fresh market = lots of yummy foods like mango salsa, blueberries, delicious fresh-ground coffee, and this tazo tea.
5. then we came home and made this sweet, sticky, and spicy chicken. y'all have got to try this recipe! we made bacon wrapped asparagus, too. [except, we were too hungry and skipped the wrapping part]
6. then, we snuggled up, watched the food network and ate the yummiest blueberries in the whole world.

meet lucy
my room mate and i rescued her from a storm drain right outside of our apartment. she has been living there for months! poor thing. she is definitely not your average kitten. she is wild, but i love her. it is kinda funny because lamar has a kitten that was rescued from a storm drain last year, is the same age as lucy, and looks just like her. long lost sisters? maybe.

oh, how i love fridays.
everything about friday is perfect. you have the whole weekend the look forward to!
i jumped out of bed like a little girl this morning (5:35 am) simply because it is friday and i knew the sooner i got to it, the sooner i could get home and snuggle with my little kitty. oh! i completely forgot to tell all of you: i have a new kitten! she has lived outside of my apartment in a storm drain for months now and we [my room mate and i] finally caught her. more on that later.
what are you up to this weekend?
i am counting down the minutes until my handsome boyfriend gets here. it has been two weeks since i have seen him and i miss him terribly. we are going on a date tonight, then hopefully relaxing the rest of the time!

1. i wore the beautiful earrings my sister gave me for christmas.
2 & 3. lamar surprised me with very pretty flowers
4. lamar made me his really good [and spicy] spaghetti. it was delicious!
5.we ate, and ate, and ate.

thank you so much for all of the sweet anniversary wishes! it means so much to me. :)
lamar and i had such a lovely evening. lamar was so sweet to me by surprising me with flowers and cooking that amazing meal. i made the cheesecake bites which turned out really yummy but not pretty at all. it was more of like cheesecake-sheetcake-that-won't-cut-into-pretty-squares. oh well, the boy liked it and that is all that matters, right? afterward, we snuggled up by the fire and watched the town starring ben affleck. it was really good and suspenseful. have you seen it?
as for this weekend...i'm going to babysit, relax, go to church, and enjoy my last weekend at home.

Tomorrow I am going to Savannah to do some shopping with my amazing friend Julie--finally some girl time and shopping time. Yesterday my computer chair broke underneath me [maybe I should lay off the candy corn] so my main mission tomorrow will be looking for a new chair. I'm thinking about this chair from Target. I love the animal print! What do you think?
This week has been incredibly draining, so the break will be much appreciated. What are you doing this weekend?
